PVP, Coliseums and arenas.
PvP Overview
PvP stands for player versus player combat. Outside of
sanctioned PvP situations such as sieges and arenas, in order to battle
another player on the general field, you must ‘force attack’ them. To
force attack, hold the Ctrl key and double-click on your opponent. You can also hold the Ctrl
key and use an attack skill. The only exclusions to the force attack
rule are flagged or Chaotic players. When attacking one of the
aforementioned, holding the Ctrl key is not necessary: you can simply click on the player to start combat.
Some areas, such as villages, are considered Peace
Zones. PvP combat cannot be initiated in these areas. Guard NPCs of any
village will attack a Chaotic character whenever they come in contact
with one.
PvP gameplay is identified through a color-coded system and is mitigated by the Reputation
system. The name of any character who attacks another player turns
purple (aggressive), and this also applies to anyone who attacks an
aggressive player. Players do not receive penalties for attacking and
defeating aggressive characters. However, when attacking and killing
characters that are neutral (white colored names), the player’s
Reputation points and PK count increase and the player becomes a Chaotic
character.
Chaotic characters cannot use shop services, and have a high chance
of dropping items and receiving the death penalty, Shilen’s Breath, upon
death. However, a chaotic character with a PK count of five or less
will not drop items upon death.Combats Points and PvP
Combat Points (CP) add an extra layer of protection
when being attacked by another player. CP acts as a buffer that must be
depleted before damage will affect the player’s hit points. The CP gauge
is found both on your Character Status page (Alt+T), as well as your
Character Status window.
If a player is damaged by another player, including by
another player’s pets and servitors, CP is consumed first with no effect
on HP. If the CP is not enough to consume all the damage, HP begins to
be consumed.
Like HP, CP is also gradually recovered as time passes.
The CP total varies by class and level, recovers over time, and acts as a
buffer that must be depleted before damage will affect the player’s hit
points.
Dueling
The dueling system allows characters to challenge each other
individually or in parties without fear of a penalty. Duels are possible
regardless of the level difference between the opponents.
Duels can be initiated when all of the characters who will participate in the duel are out of combat. During a duel, no escape-related skills or items can be used. When a duel or party duel ends, the participants’ HP, MP, and CP return to what they were before the duel began. All abnormal status magic incurred during the duel disappears at the end of the duel.
When one character invites another character to a duel, the invited character can choose to accept or decline the duel by clicking the appropriate button in the interface window that displays the request. You can also choose to block all duel requests by checking the Decline Duel box in the Game tab of the System Options menu.
You can request a one-on-one duel by using the /duel
command or the Duel icon in the Actions window. You win the duel when
your opponent’s HP reaches 1. Each one-on-one duel is two minutes long.
A party cannot request or accept party duels if any party member is in any of the following states:

After you form a party consisting of at least seven members, the party leader can register for the games via the Arena Manager NPC, Coordinator Kuram.
The games occur in the order and frequency in which teams register for them. Only five teams can be registered at any given time.
Before the party leader registers his or her team, the party leader and all party members must decide where their individual starting location will be when the battle begins by adjusting their order in the party window. The order directly affects where each member will begin the battle when they are teleported into the coliseum. Team members who are best at solo matches should be placed towards the top of the party member list.
Once the game begins, a resurrection tower will appear in the coliseum. When a player is killed, he or she will join the match again near the resurrection tower.
If the resurrection tower is destroyed, you cannot automatically resurrect inside the coliseum; however, you can still resurrect inside the coliseum by using a resurrection skill or item.
Each match lasts for 10 minutes.
Victory in a game is determined by the number of kills. If the
opposing team has the same kill count, then the team with fewer deaths
is the victor. If both teams have the exact same number of points, the
first team to have registered for the game will be deemed the victor.
You can also win before the end of a match by destroying all of the
opposing team’s members.

The duel ends when all of the members of one of the parties are dead; the surviving party is the victor. Ending a Duel Early
Duels can be ended prematurely in one of the following ways:- Use of the /withdraw command during the duel

- When a player moves to an area where a duel is impossible after the duel begins
- When a player attacks another player before the duel begins
